One Critical Bitch is the product of years of movie binge-watching and two college degrees in film and film-making.
As a writer and visual artist, I know that criticism can be a dirty word in the arts community. And to the rest of the public, it’s code for opaque, stiff, academic writing that tries to turn something fun into something serious.
It is my hope that this blog will exist to give voice to criticism as an outspoken, brave, and creative art form in itself. And in the process, create a community that can talk about film in an engaging, approachable, and seriously exciting way.
Check back often for analysis of current and classic films, themes like this month’s Horror-Thon, and posts that highlight women, social issues, and just plain awesome movies.
